#thefridaydozen

It’s not only Friday the 13th, but it’s also going to be a full moon. That means today is supposed to be crazy right?!?!. Well my #TheFridayDozen playlist will only add to the chaos of your day.

The inspiration for today’s dozen is derived from the recent announcement that the Misfits will be reuniting with the original members. That means original singer Glenn Danzig, bassist Jerry Only and guitarist Doyle are all confirmed to participate in the reunion being dubbed “The Original Misfits.” Now this may not mean much too many of you, but for those of us that were influenced by, and enamored with, the heavy metal thunder of the sixties, seventies and eighties, this is amazing news.

My playlist consists of songs by some of the most influential bands of the eighties. These bands were part of the punk movement, the new wave of British metal and of course the big four of thrash (Anthrax, Megadeth, Slayer and Metallica). There are classic tracks written by the late greats Jeff Hanneman, Lemmy Kilmister, and Cliff Burton, all taken too soon. There are early tracks from the British greats Saxon and Iron Maiden. But most importantly, there is one Last Caress from the Misfits. Today, on such a random occurrence on the most superstitious of days (after all, it’s Friday the 13th and a full moon), let’s celebrate the reunion of one of the early and amazing punk bands – the Misfits.

I hope this kick starts your morning and that you have a great and productive Friday! Rock on!!!
